Spaghetti

I don’t want to be awake
but there’s an old woman
spooling my intestines
onto a nail-laden stick.
She is trying to unburden me.
The dreams are back
just in time
for the end of everything.
I’m finally free
to be spaghetti
and nothing else.
They say human intestines
go on forever.
I don’t think I’ll
be disappointed.
