Please Don’t Eat All the Good Words
please don’t eat
all the good words
save some for me
a syllable of pomegranate
a chrysanthemum melting mouthful
spoon up lilting oceans ellipses
nibble spherical mystery penumbras
but leave one crimson globe shimmering
in opalescent glazed suspension
disbelief wafts lightning zapped
by infinity’s disguises
savor summer moonlight marbles
cascading lily pads dance downstream
candlelight rivulets in reckless bloom
lagoons echo drip drop dew drops
syncopation caresses
a ruby-throated prickly pear
lilac thunderclouds embracing sky-high
sunrise soars in on tangled insights
sip hibiscus harpsichord honeycombs
and float your flamingo illusions
of phlox fiddle cats splashing
blissfully meandering a lost meadow marsh
taste a carousel constellation atop
carnelian monkey shine puddles
indulge in indigo swoops, whirls and whorls
of lingering plumeria coincidence
but please save some
scintillating squiggle emerald words
for me
