How to Have a Good Day

If you wake up at five in the morning to somebody knocking at your door and the somebody is your

friend who happens to be a girl and if you go to Starbucks at her whim and order a venti Pumpkin Spice

Latte and drive to the beach to watch the sun rise in the reflections of the waves and then insist on going

to work but she urges you with a hand on your arm so you call in sick with your boss as she places an

address for an seafood grill but you are allergic to seafood but you don’t tell her and when you order you

get a salad but she gets salmon and it looks so tasty so you ask for a bite before you can stop yourself and

then your throat itches and you spend the rest of lunch drinking water while she pats your arm

sympathetically and as you drive back home she spots a strawberry stand on the side of the road but you

say the strawberries from Sprouts are better but she insists so you pull over and buy a bucket and you

have to admit they taste better than the ones from Sprouts and on the drive home she spots her favorite

movie playing in a drive-in and she begs you please please lets go there but you spent all your money on

the food so you sneak through a hole in the fence to watch the movie and you set down a towel and

blanket to sit on and you fall asleep before Terminator Two even starts and you wake up to her poking

you in the ribs and laughing and if all of this happens did you know you’d have such a good birthday?
