Analiese Beeler

Landbound in Texas

I put the crumpled body of a wasp
In the shell of my ear
And listen for the ocean.

Analiese Beeler is a senior at the University of North Texas, where her studies in linguistics and French have rearranged her approach to language head to toe. Her poetry frequents themes of grieving what's left behind and the joy that remains. Her work is forthcoming in the North Texas Review.
